Our goal is to be the advocates we once needed.
To create hope, foster a serene environment, and encourage stability as each individual focus on rebuilding his/ her life through recovery. As such, our organization understands that everyone deserves clean, comfortable, and safe housing to reside in -a place to truly call home! We affirm the God-given self-worth and right of everyone to flourish in every way, while becoming a productive member of society.
Lashondra Thompson, the founder, and CEO of Ascension Supportive Housing Inc (“ASHINC”), has 10 years of experience with outreach and community engagement.
As a survivor of sexual abuse, homelessness, and addiction, she truly understands first-hand what hopelessness, shame, despair, and destitution look and feel like. With 13 years of sobriety and counting under her belt, Lashondra truly exemplifies what it means to overcome against all odds!
During the course of her 16 years in the Service and Hospitality industry, Lashondra has witnessed the
recovery processes: of under-served veterans, ex-offenders, the homeless, and countless other
individuals.
Lashondra’s greatest passion is to not only offer housing, but to also convey a message of
hope that is centered on the healing and wholeness of individuals. She has a burning desire to be the
advocate that she once needed!
Service before self- Placing the needs of others over our own comforts.
Stewardship- Careful and responsible management of the individuals entrusted to our care and guidance.
Respect- is more than a feeling, but a demonstration of honor, value and reverence for our clients.
Forgiveness- a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward self, a person or group who has harmed you.
